The article in the Sept. 16 Tribune about proposed wind turbines off Morro Bay sounds very nice (“Company floats wind energy in Morro Bay”). Trident, the company considering them, has already consulted the fishermen and the Chumash. But I noticed there was not one mention of birds in the article.
Wind turbines are notorious for killing birds. And there are many seabirds flying around out there off Morro Bay. I would feel a lot better if I knew that Trident and the other entities involved were thinking about the birds, at least enough to get a mention in the article.
I’m a supporter of renewable energy. But I’m also a supporter of birds. I would rather not hear about a massive array of wind turbines that will slaughter any bird that tries to fly in that vicinity. Please give some consideration to the birds.
