Imagine my disdain when I witnessed the Links Golf Course of Paso Robles planting new grapevines on Jardine Road.
I went to the office there to inquire about these new crops that are a blatant black eye to our community, because of the drought that is affecting property owners and farmers in San Luis Obispo County and statewide. This being because of the forced state water rationing everyone is expected to honor!
I was told that the owner of the Links is a local, well-known Realtor — someone who should be ultra-aware of our dire water conditions because of her real estate affiliation.
Wells as close as 300 feet across the street from the Links have dropping water levels, as all property owners in the Jardine area do. There is no relief to this drought in sight.

I find it uncaring and pompous to plant new crops of grapes just for fun and esoteric reasons when your neighbors are fearing the bleak future that a dry well will bring.
Just because you can, does not mean it is the right thing to do. You obviously don’t care that your actions affect others negatively!
Shame on you. Shame on you!!
