The July 4th Safety Committee would like to say a big “thank you” to all the citizens of Cayucos, as well as friends and visitors, for making this July 4 the safest and best ever.
This was the first year that the community requested that no chairs be placed on public streets and sidewalks before 6 p.m. on July 3. People complied with that request almost literally without exception (we picked up a total of six chairs in a week!) Since then, we have heard many comments about how much nicer it was to be able to drive or walk through town without having to navigate an obstacle course. Merchants are pleased that customers and deliveries were able to access their stores easily.
And of course, the parade was delightful, as always, and well attended, as always.
So once again, thanks to the community and visitors for helping to make Cayucos both welcoming and safe on the Fourth.
