We should not allow partisan politics to derail the Iran nuclear agreement.
While they should, neither political party has acknowledged that while the war on Iraq may have deposed a dictator, it made the region less stable by increasing the relative power of Iran.
The answer to that situation lies in negotiation, not in another costly war, which wastes American lives and unintentionally kills civilians — not to mention the billions of dollars spent on that war that could have been used to improve the lives of all Americans.
I am not suggesting we abandon our historic support for Israel. A more stable Middle East benefits Israel the same way it benefits us: fewer wasted lives and dollars.
