The June 28 performance by the New Hope Symphony, under the direction of Michael Nowak, was a magical, musical journey through themes of community, despair, hope and love.
There was not an empty seat in the Clark Center, and the first of many jubilant standing ovations came as Nowak took the stage before the first note was struck.
The love and esteem this community has for Nowak is palpable.
And so I wonder, since the San Luis Obispo Symphony has canceled its annual Pops by the Sea concert, is there any chance the New Hope Symphony could do it instead?
