Regarding: Tom Fulks’ July 5 column, “Live Oak Festival kindles friendships”:
Tom, you said you didn’t expect to run into conservative friends at Live Oak because you couldn’t imagine anyone being interested in “community of this kind.”
Well, you are wrong. It’s all about the music. This conservative boomer attended (amazed at more tie-dye than I’ve seen in one place since 1969) and sat with our other guntotin’, huntin’ conservative friends. Also, there were plenty of conservative-looking types at the bluegrass and country performances. So, please don’t generalize and keep politics out of it, please. We love music, too.
