S.C. should keep flag up

In response to Bill Denneen (Letters, June 27): What about those who have ancestors who fought for the Confederacy? At the beginning of the war, young men from the age of 18 to 35 were conscripted into the Confederate Army, this was not a choice. Would you have turned your back on your life and moved north? Our knee-jerk liberal friends understanding of U.S. history is abysmal. Mindless liberals who will leap before looking onto the trendy bandwagon of the thoughtless, progressive morass of spring-loaded trap judgement.

This is black and that is white. This is bad, that is good and all for the approval of their mindless ilk, nothing more.

As far as I am concerned, I hope South Carolina votes to keep that flag. Hundreds of thousands of young Democrats died defending it against republicans.

You heard me right. The Confederate flag flew over Democrats, most of them too poor to own a slave.

Progressives open a history book once in a while, please. Now if you will excuse me, I am on my way out to purchase a Confederate flag. I think it would look just marvelous hanging above my porch.
