I sincerely hope that now that Pope Francis is releasing an encyclical that states it is man’s moral obligation to do something about global warming, there will be a ring of truth in the ears of conservatives who have so obstinately denied its existence despite overwhelming evidence.
Of course, Rick Santorum, a staunch Catholic but even stauncher climate change denier, has suggested that His Holiness should keep his nose out of where it doesn’t belong.
In a typical “Santorumism,” he said, “Science should be left to the scientists.”
Gosh, Rick, the pope was merely echoing what 97 percent of the scientific community has been saying for years. Oh, by the way, senator, the pope is actually a scientist. He was a chemist. You can look that up on Google if you know how to use a computer.
