Andrea Seastrand’s column on Dan Dow’s opponent for district attorney, Mike Cummins, was right on the mark. She touched on many issues that are problematic for Cummins, not the least of which is his amusing legal name change to “Judge.” Interesting, for someone who said in a prior Tribune interview that being on the bench wasn’t for him, to change your legal name to reflect your time on the bench.
One thing Seastrand didn’t mention is that Cummins has embraced the Progressive Party and enjoys being a part of that movement. Not sure a Bernie Sanders follower is what we want running the District Attorney’s Office in this county.
Dan Dow has done an outstanding job in his time in office. He is truly non-partisan as he has endorsements from Democrats such as Jan Marx and Erik Howell and Republicans such as Ed Waage and Jordan Cunningham.
