Photo in front of the Mission mocks Catholic religion

Pride in the Plaza.

I am not Catholic. Young men who wish to dress in drag and parade around town do not concern me. It’s their right to do so. But I take offense at the large photo on Page 3A of the Monday, July 10, Tribune — also featured prominently online — of the “Covenant of the Holy Madonnas” that The Tribune chose to feature, describing the day as “a fun and colorful event.”

It appears the photo may have been taken on the plaza in front of Mission San Luis Obispo, making it more egregious. I wonder how many of your Catholic readers found it to be fun and colorful to have their religion mocked and disrespected in this way?
