A recent run of hot weather that has brought higher temperatures to the coastal valleys than the North County will continue Saturday morning before finally easing up later in the day as a high-pressure ridge breaks down and the offshore Santa Lucia winds give way to onshore winds from the ocean.

Friday’s highs once again flirted with triple digits, but the only one record high was matched, in Santa Maria, where it was 100, same as in 1985.

The high at the San Luis Obispo airport and in Paso Robles topped out at 98 degrees.
