A heat record was broken Friday in San Luis Obispo, according to local meteorologist John Lindsey.
Temperatures reached 93 degrees at Cal Poly, the home of climatology in San Luis Obispo County, breaking the 1927 record of 87 degrees for this date.
Cal Poly has been recording temperatures since 1870.
In contrast, Paso Robles did not break any temperature records. That city hit a record high of 101 degrees in 1966, compared to 95 degrees Friday.
