The Atascadero Police Association's members have announced they unanimously endorse the three incumbents seeking re-election Nov. 4 to the Atascadero City Council.

The association, made up of police officers and dispatchers, endorsed Mayor Tom O’Malley and council members Heather Moreno and Brian Sturtevant.

“The association acknowledges the hardships the city of Atascadero, its staff and the community has endured during the most recent recession,” association president Scott Pipan said in a statement. “The Atascadero Police Association believes the city of Atascadero needs strong leaders who can work together cohesively during this time of financial recovery, and we believe (the incumbents) are the right people for the job.”

The other mayoral candidate is certified arborist Charles Scovell. The other City Council candidates are Len Colamarino, an Atascadero planning commissioner and attorney, and Chuck Ward, a former Atascadero planning commissioner and military veteran.
