Cuesta College cancels North County classes amid power outage

UPDATE 5:25 p.m.: A power outage on the north side of River Road near Highway 46 has left 762 customers without power, including Cuesta College's North County campus.

Reports of a downed power line were made around 3:30 p.m., according to Blair Jones, PG&E spokesman. About 1,800 customers initially lost power.

Crews are on the scene, working to restore power to the remaining customers, and the cause of the outage is under investigation.

Original story: All classes at Cuesta College’s North County campus in Paso Robles have been canceled Tuesday night because of a power outage.

The campus lost power just before 4 p.m. because of a downed power line, according to campus spokeswoman Lauren Milbourne.

Classes will resume Wednesday morning. Campus officials have posted signage alerting students to the class closures.
