A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Wednesday evening for the new gymnasium at Paso Robles High School.
The new gym was part of Measure T, a small property tax voters approved, which raised $20 million for improvements to the school’s facilities. That money was accompanied by more than $20 million in state matching grants.
Groundbreaking on the new $4 million gym began in March 2014. It will complement the existing gym and include a practice gymnasium, a lifestyle classroom, an aerobics room and a weight room.
The community is invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which is also a chamber mixer with gourmet-quality food prepared by culinary arts director Gregg Wangard. Entertainment will be provided by Bearcats football payers, cheerleaders and SkillsUSA winners. The event begins at 5:30 at the gym, located at 801 Niblick Road.
