About 4:45 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Nipomo Smoke Shop at 110 Mary Ave.
A man entered the store armed with a small handgun and robbed the clerk of about $350 before running off, the news release said.

The man is described as white, about 30 to 35 years old with short dark hair, weighing about 180 pounds, and about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall. The man was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, possibly inside out, and dark sweatpants, the news release said. He wore a bandana over his face during the robbery.
No one was hurt during the robbery, and the investigation is ongoing.

The smoke shop robbery is the third armed robbery at a San Luis Obispo County business in about a week. On Friday night, an armed man allegedly robbed a clerk at Sycamore Mineral Springs in Avila Beach. On Aug. 5, an armed man robbed a Spyglass Inn hotel clerk in Pismo Beach, according to police.
On Thursday, two men beat and tried to rob a clerk at an AM/PM store in Arroyo Grande, police say.
