The Atascadero Police Department and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office said no additional information would be released Sunday about the body found near Highway 101 on Saturday.
A medical ID was on the man’s wrist, but the Coroner’s Office is continuing its efforts to confirm the identity, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office added that the man’s identity might be released Monday.

Atascadero police said they found the body of a 37-year-old man near Highway 101 in downtown Atascadero on Saturday.
Based on where the body was found, detectives are investigating the death as suspicious, said Sgt. Robert Molle of the Atascadero Police Department.
Molle said the body was found on Caltrans-owned property adjacent to 6550 El Camino Real.
The man is believed to be an Atascadero resident, but police aren’t releasing his identity yet, Molle said.
Molle said the San Luis Obispo County Coroner’s Office took the body and is expected to conduct an autopsy.
Police were notified of the body about 2 p.m. Officials haven’t determined how long the body had been there, Molle said.
