Man sought in armed robbery of Paso Robles store

Paso Robles police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery at the Payless ShoeSource store Sunday night.

At about 5 p.m., police received a report of a robbery at the business in the 100 block of Niblick Road.

According to a Paso Robles Police Department news release, a lone man entered the business and appeared to be shopping for a few minutes before approaching the sales counter and revealing a handgun in his waistband. He then allegedly demanded money from an employee.

The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robber walked out of the store, got into a white four-door sedan and drove away, heading west on Niblick Road.

No one was hurt in the incident, and a police investigation remained ongoing Monday.

The robber is described as a white adult in his 30s approximately 5 foot 10 and 240 pounds with a clean-shaven face and blond hair. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray cargo shorts.
