Cal Poly police are investigating a report of an attempted burglary at an on-campus apartment.
Shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday, a female resident of Cerro Vista Apartments woke to noise of someone trying to break into her room, according to Cal Poly officials.
The resident shouted, and the burglar, who was attempting to enter through a ground-floor window, left without getting inside.
The resident didn’t get a good look at the intruder, only describing that he or she was wearing dark clothing with a hood.
“It was dark in the room and not very light outside, so the resident couldn’t even tell whether the suspect was a male or female,” said Cal Poly spokesman Matt Lazier.
The intent of the attempted burglary isn’t known. No property was stolen, and the resident was not harmed.
The university’s police department will continue to investigate the incident.
