Two juveniles held as suspects in a string of early-morning robberies

Two juveniles suspected in three armed robberies early Saturday were arrested by Santa Maria police and taken to Juvenile Hall in Santa Barbara County.

The juveniles are suspects in incidents in San Luis Obispo, Arroyo Grande and Santa Maria, a news release issued by San Luis Obispo police said. In all three cases, witnesses described three suspects wearing dark-colored clothes and ski masks or dark hoodies.

"We have two suspects in custody and one outstanding who we're still trying to identify," said San Luis Obispo police Sgt. Chad Pfarr.

According to police, the series began with a 12:22 a.m. robbery in Santa Maria with the suspects possibly leaving in an older black Honda Civic.

The second incident was at about 2:21 a.m., when two San Luis Obispo women walking on Palm Street near Toro were approached by three men, with at least one holding a rifle or shotgun. The suspects stole property from both women and then left in a dark-colored sedan, the news release said.

The Arroyo Grande robbery occurred at about 2:45 a.m. at a store in the 100 block of El Camino Real, Arroyo Grande police Sgt. Jeff Souza said.

At 4:30 a.m. Santa Maria stopped a black Honda and arrested the two juvenile suspects. The investigation is continuing, police said.
