Three people were injured in a traffic collision Friday morning in San Luis Obispo that police say was caused by a drunken driver.
At 11:25 a.m. Friday, 51-year-old Paul Daniel Robin of San Luis Obispo was driving east on Foothill Boulevard when he collided with a vehicle stopped at a red light at Broad Street, according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo Police Department. The crash propelled that vehicle into a third vehicle, which was also stopped at the red light, the news release states.
The drivers of the stopped vehicles and a passenger were injured, though the severity of their injuries was not immediately clear.
Robin was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence causing injury and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail, where he remained in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail at 5 p.m. Friday.
