Three Paso Robles businesses cited for selling alcohol to a minor

Three Paso Robles businesses were cited Saturday by the Paso Robles Police Department  for selling alcohol to a minor during a planned decoy operation.

Pioneer Food Mart on Spring Street, Woodland Chevron on Niblick Road and Manny’s Pizza Bar and Grill on Spring Street all sold alcohol to a minor, according to the police department.

The sales clerk who sold the alcohol at each of those stores was given a $250 fine.

The police department had a minor, who was monitored by an undercover officer, enter the business and try to buy alcohol. Seventeen other stores included in the minor decoy operation, which is intended to reduce the availability of alcohol to minors, did not get cited.

The operation was part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s minor decoy/shoulder tap grant project, funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

The three businesses cited for selling alcohol to a minor will also be contacted by investigators from Alcohol Beverage Control, and may face additional sanctions.
