4 kids arrested for allegedly stealing from parked cars in Paso Robles

Four juveniles were arrested following a short foot pursuit early Monday morning after police say they were found with items stolen from a number of parked vehicles in Paso Robles.

According to the Paso Robles Police Department, at approximately 3:30 a.m., officers received a report of four males wearing all black clothing, carrying bags and looking into parked vehicles on the 1800 block of Chestnut Street.

Responding officers detained all four people following a short chase, according to a Police Department news release, and found them allegedly in possession of stolen items including iPods, cameras, CDs, MP3 players and other electronics.

The four alleged thieves — an 11-year-old, a 14-year-old and two 15-year-olds — were each arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and criminal conspiracy, both felonies, as well as a misdemeanor charge of petty theft and taken to the San Luis Obispo County Juvenile Services Center.

Police said Tuesday that the investigation is ongoing, and it is not yet known how many victims there might be.

Because of their ages, the identities of the juveniles are not being released.
