Authorities conducted a probation sweep of known North County gang members on Saturday, resulting in eight arrests and the seizure of 16 guns.
The Nov. 23 operation covered Paso Robles, San Miguel, Shandon and Atascadero.
During the sweep, police seized 11 grams of methamphetamine; they also discovered and seized a cache of weapons at a rural Paso Robles residence, including four rifles, one shotgun, four handguns and seven revolvers.
The Paso Robles Police Department collaborated with the San Luis Obispo County Probation Department, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, Atascadero Police Department, and Atascadero State Hospital Police Department K9 unit on the sweep, according to a news release.
The following people were arrested:
Erika Almirol, 22, of Paso Robles on suspicion of felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; Nichol Green, 34, of Paso Robles on suspicion of two felony counts of drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; Daniel Machado, 55, of Paso Robles for existing warrants; and Nicholas Watson, 29, of Atascadero on suspicion of felony possession of a drug for sale and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Four juveniles — two from Paso Robles, one from Shandon and one from Atascadero — were also arrested on probation violations.
