A regional task force formed in response to a recent spate of thefts and burglaries across the South County has arrested three people and seized hundreds of items of suspected stolen property.
During the early morning hours of Friday, Aug. 23, task force members and the Regional S.W.A.T. Team executed search warrants at one location in Arroyo Grande and two locations in Grover Beach, seizing items including tools, bicycles and electronics, according to a news release from the Arroyo Grande Police Department.
The following three people were arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail:
All three men are suspected of participating in thefts and burglaries, and additional charges may be added as the investigation progresses, Arroyo Grande Police Chief Steve Annibali told The Tribune.
“We have trailers full of property to sort through,” he said.
“We are happy because we will have a lot of property to return to people.”
Once the evidence is processed and inventoried, the Arroyo Grande Police Department will set up an email address so people can inquire about stolen property rather than walking into the station, because the volume is so large, Annibali said.
The task force included members from the Arroyo Grande Police Department, Pismo Beach Police Department, Grover Beach Police Department, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, San Luis Obispo Police Department, San Luis Obispo County Probation Department and the California state parole division.
