Pimp on a train and other emergencies from Paso Robles and SLO

Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take dozens of calls from residents seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes. The Tribune provides coverage of serious crimes every day on its news pages. Here is a look at some of the other, more unusual calls as found in recent police logs from Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo.

Doggone it8:21 a.m. April 19, 1100 block of Grassy Hollow in Paso Robles

A resident said the dog they just got from some Atascadero residents had run away.

Road rage12:49 p.m. April 19, 100 block of Bridgegate Lane in Paso Robles

A man said he nearly got into a crash with someone who ran a stop sign while he was making a U-turn into his driveway. He yelled at the other driver, and the driver and someone else got out of their truck with a shovel. He ran into the house to get a bat, and when he came back out, the other driver was gone.

Unfinished art3:18 p.m. April 19, 542 Spring St. in Paso Robles

A man said he was painting a mural inside a restaurant and got into an argument with the owner because verbal agreements were not being honored. The owner allegedly grabbed his hand and kicked the door of his vehicle. He said the painting was almost halfway done, but the owner would not let him back inside the restaurant. He did get $100 for the painting.

Pooch patrol2:14 a.m. April 20, 2200 block of Vine Street in Paso Robles

A resident heard someone walking around the area and heard someone say something to his parents’ dogs. Officers found a man, who said he was out checking for barking dogs.

Pimp alert4:13 p.m. April 21, 800 Pine St. in Paso Robles

The conductor of a train traveling through the area said a woman in the dining car was traveling with a man the conductor thought might be a pimp. An officer walked the train from back to front after it arrived at the station, but did not see anyone matching the woman’s description.

Scammed1:33 p.m. April 24, 900 Park St. in Paso Robles

A woman came to the Police Department to say she ordered some items from a Mexican infomercial and now they were sending her more items and trying to charge her more money.

Garden bandits2:58 p.m. April 24, 1100 block of Stoney Creek Road in Paso Robles

A resident who had previously reported a stolen plant was now saying a water hose had been cut.

Suspicious device7:37 a.m. May 1, 1600 Toro St. in San Luis Obispo

A table lamp with a timer on it was found in a parking lot near a mailbox.

Court problem6:33 p.m. May 1, 906 Southwood Drive in San Luis Obispo

Five college-aged people were playing soccer on the tennis courts at Sinsheimer Park.

Minor offense8:16 p.m. May 1, 1168 Vista Del Lago in San Luis Obispo

A 9- or 10-year-old kid was driving a golf cart on the street.
