SLO woman fights back after being assaulted in her bed early Friday morning

A San Luis Obispo woman was awakened Friday morning by a naked man in her bed attempting to rape her, say San Luis Obispo police.



The suspect, Bryan Kwang Kim, 28, of San Luis Obispo, had been a resident in the home on the 1200 block of Manzanita Way and returned early Friday morning around 9:30 a.m., according to police.



The victim woke to a naked Kim in her bed trying to sexually assault her. She resisted and escaped to notify police.



Both victim and suspect sustained injuries in the incident.



Kim fled but was apprehended by police not far from the scene of the crime. He was arrested and taken to County Jail on suspicion of assault with the intent to commit rape, penetration with a foreign object, burglary, false imprisonment and sexual battery.



Kim’s bail has been set at $100,000.
