Two Bakersfield men were taken into custody Monday on suspicion of burglary and other charges, the Pismo Beach Police Department announced Thursday.

William Campbell, 22, and Cody Boronda, 26, were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property, burglary tools, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Police found stolen property in the suspects’ Dodge Ram that they later linked to several recent reported vehicle and residential burglaries in the Pismo Beach area.

Police said a resident in the 800 block of Merced Avenue called them at 10:42 p.m. Monday and reported a suspicious vehicle, the Dodge Ram pickup, in the area. One or two people connected with the pickup were seen walking around the neighborhood, possibly checking car doors, police added.

Responding officers found the vehicle, stopped it, and made the arrests.

Campbell and Boronda were booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail. Bail has been set at $20,000 on Campbell and $25,000 on Boronda.
