About 22,400 marijuana plants were discovered and destroyed Thursday in the Lime Mountain area west of Nacimiento Lake.
Investigators with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, along with agents from the Department of Justice and Campaign Against Marijuana Planting, acted after completing a three-week investigation of three different grow sites.
According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, investigators also found "several large campsites along with 10 five-gallon propane tanks, eight car batteries, and numerous containers of pesticides and fertilizer."
In addition, 9mm ammunition and two empty gun holsters were also found. The investigation is continuing based on evidence found at the campsites. No arrests have been made.
