An Atascadero man accused of killing two women on Christmas Day is scheduled to face trial in October, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Andrew Downs was in court today for a trial-setting conference. He's accused of fatally shooting sisters Kathy Yeager and Beverly Reilly at a Santa Margarita Ranch home on Dec. 25.
Downs, who has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial hearing on Sept. 13, a readiness conference on Oct. 11, and a jury trial on Oct. 18 in Judge John Trice’s courtroom.
He’s currently being held in County Jail without bail.
