Paso Robles police are investigating an attempted homicide allegedly involving one spouse shooting another.
Corey Morton, 39, was arrested after police were dispatched at 5:15 p.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Pacific Avenue for a domestic violence-related case. Police found Morton’s 39-year-old husband with an apparent gunshot wound to the left thigh.
Morton was arrested without incident and police are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting. They recovered a small-caliber handgun from the scene.
The husband was transported to Twin Cities Community Hospital where he was treated for the wound, which is described as not life-threatening. The victim’s name is not being released due to the state’s domestic violence reporting law, police say.
