Preliminary hearing in Dystiny Myers case postponed

A preliminary hearing scheduled in the criminal case against the five defendants accused of killing 15-year-old Dystiny Myers has been postponed.

The two-day hearing was expected to take place Monday, but it was re-scheduled to Feb. 7. The details of why the hearing was postponed weren’t discussed by attorneys outside of court because of a gag order issued in the case.

Five people have pleaded not guilty to the murder of Myers. They are Jason Adam Greenwell, Frank Jacob York, and Rhonda Maye Wisto, all of Nipomo; Ty Michael Hill of Santa Maria; and Cody Lane Miller of Fresno.

Myers’ burned body was found in a remote field in Santa Margarita on Sept. 26.
