Two Templeton men were arrested last week after allegedly stealing items out of unlocked vehicles in town.

Ryan Carl Clifton, 21, and Galen Grant Smith, 20, were arrested Dec. 23 for allegedly stealing items such as an iPod, wallet, tools, gift cards and Christmas gifts.

The items were reported stolen between Dec. 21 and 23. During the investigation, detectives saw a surveillance video of the suspects casing a vehicle, and drove to their home. Clifton and Smith were arrested on suspicion of felony grand theft and felony possession of stolen property after numerous items of stolen property were discovered at the home.

The items were returned to the victims.

Clifton is in County Jail, where bail was set at $20,000. Smith was booked and released after posting bail. A third person is being investigated as a possible suspect in the case.
