A San Miguel man wanted on a felony warrant for allegedly pointing a sawed-off shotgun at people in rural Paso Robles was arrested in Atascadero on Tuesday morning, according to police.

Jason Archimedes Smith, 37, was arrested at 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Motel 6 off El Camino Real. During his arrest, more than three pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in his motel room. Smith was charged with possession of those items. No weapons were located at the motel or in Smith's possession, police said.

The felony warrant originated from an incident that reportedly took place on Monday night.

Sheriff's deputies and officers with the Atascadero Police Department worked together on the case.
