San Luis Obispo detectives are looking for a man who stabbed another man behind the Vons grocery store at the Marigold Center on Monday morning.
Police were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. when a transient man in his mid-50s flagged down a passerby in front of the store and asked for help because he had been stabbed in the chest, said Lt. Tom De Priest.
The victim, who was stabbed once with a sharp tool, required surgery and is in the intensive care unit at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
The altercation took place down an alley behind the grocery store, said De Priest.
