A 24-year-old San Luis Obispo man, Cody Andre Soto, was booked into County Jail Friday night on an assault with a deadly weapon charge following an alleged stabbing in the 600 block of Perkins Lane around 8 p.m.
San Luis Obispo police and fire personnel responded to the scene and found San Luis Obispo resident John Rorabough, 22, suffering from a lower back wound “consistent with being stabbed with a sharp instrument,” according to a police report.
After Rorabough identified Soto as his alleged attacker, he was taken to a local hospital where was treated for what was considered a nonlife-threatening wound.
Officers then searched the surrounding neighborhood and found Soto hiding nearby. He was arrested on the assault with a deadly weapon charge and for having outstanding warrants.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the incident should call the San Luis Obispo Police Department at 781-7317 or Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP.
