The Morro Bay Police Department is looking for a man they say robbed a local motel Monday night.
Police responded about 10:30 p.m. Monday to the Motel 6 at 298 Atascadero Road after a man allegedly robbed a desk clerk with a knife.
Officers later attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Joshua Lee Drinnon, the man identified as the alleged robber. The vehicle stopped after a short pursuit in the 100 block of Atascadero Road, at which point Drinnon then exited the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.
Drinnon evaded the officers and was last seen running on the beach near Atascadero Road, police said.

Drinnon is considered armed and dangerous, and residents should not approach him, police said. Anyone who sees Drinnon is urged to call 911 or their local law enforcement agency.
