Deputies looking into kidnapping report detain trio in Morro Bay

A vehicle was stopped in Morro Bay on Friday afternoon in connection with a report of kidnapping and prostitution.

San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s officials pulled over the driver of a white Cadillac sedan about 2:30 p.m. on Highway 1 near South Bay Boulevard. The driver and two passengers were detained, said sheriff’s spokesman Rob Bryn.

Officials from the Santa Barbara Police Department, the agency investigating the report, were en route to interview the suspects, Bryn said.

The potential victim is an 18-year-old woman from Nebraska who called her mother and said she was being held against her will, according to Sgt. Chad Hunt of the Santa Barbara Police Department. The teenager said that she was in Santa Barbara, and her mother called Santa Barbara Police to report the alleged crime.

The allegations are being investigated, and no arrests have been made, Hunt said.
