A Bakersfield man is in custody three months after an shooting on April 13 in Arroyo Grande left a man with a gunshot wound in his chest, police said Friday.
Juan Carlos Rubio-Lopez is being held in Kern County after he was arrested on an unrelated homicide charge, according to police. He’s now being charged with multiple felonies for his alleged involvement in the shooting that took place in the 1400 block of El Camino Real.
“The Arroyo Grande Police Department would like to thank the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA/Bakersfield Office) and the Atascadero Police Department for their assistance in this investigation,” Arroyo Grande Police Department wrote in a media release.
Police said they have also identified other suspects involved in the shooting, but those names were not released Friday.

After the initial shooting, investigators said they were looking for three to four male and three to four female suspects that were seen running from the scene.
