Paso Robles police are searching for two suspects who robbed a 7-Eleven early Sunday morning, including one who punched a store clerk in the face.

Two men entered the store in the 2300 block of Spring Street about 1:30 a.m., took bottles of alcohol from a display case and attempted to hide them, according to a Paso Robles Police Department news release.

The store clerk noticed the men hiding the alcohol and confronted them as they tried to leave.

One suspect was able to escape with stolen alcohol, and the clerk attempted to detain the second man. The suspect refused to return the alcohol and began punching the store clerk in the face, following him as he retreated behind the counter.

The suspect then knocked over a display case and grabbed more merchandise before fleeing the store on foot.

Paso Robles police are using video surveillance footage taken during the robbery to help identify the suspects. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Police Department at 805-237-6464 or Crime Stoppers at 805-549-7867.
