A Neighborhood Watch meeting for the whole town will be held on Monday at Lillian Larsen School gym, 1601 L St., at 6:30 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies will be on hand to share information and answer questions about making our community safer.

San Miguel District schools start on Wednesday, so watch for children as you drive through town.
On Aug. 20 Mission San Miguel will hold a chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help fund the annual September Fiesta. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for children. All are welcome.
The San Miguel Advisory Council will meet on Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Community Building on the alley at the park. The council is advisory to the SLO County Board of Supervisors and the Planning Department.
The Pleasant Valley Wine Trail is sponsoring a gala “Evening under the Estrella Sky” Winemakers’ Dinner on Aug. 19 to support the Pleasant Valley School District.
The event will be held at Hartley Farms, 6770 Estrella Road, from 6 to 9 p.m. Winemakers and owners of the 13 Estrella wineries, along with associate members Hartley Farms and Wine Country RV, will serve a delightful four-course meal with wine pairings and accompanied by music.
