Santa Lucia Middle School is seeking applicants to fill coaching positions in boys and girls basketball for the 2015-16 school year.
According to Athletic Director Toby Cinque, candidates should have previous experience coaching youth sports and should have “knowledge of the game” they are applying to coach. Candidates should also hold a current CPR/first aid certificate and TB clearance from a physician.
All coaches hired will be fingerprinted at the SLO County Office of Education, and will receive a $1,954 stipend for their work. Coaches are responsible for scheduling and conducting practice sessions in preparation for two games each week.
The season features 12 games, six at home and six on the road, Cinque explained. The boys basketball season runs from Sept. 1 to Oct. 30, and the girls season is from Dec. 15 to March 1.
