Coast Union falls to Templeton 8-7 in softball opener

The opening game of the season ended with a tough loss for the Coast Union softball team Tuesday, March 3 at Templeton. The Lady Broncos were shaded, 8-7, as the Lady Eagles scored the deciding run in the bottom of the seventh inning. 

Junior pitcher Ellie Magnuson had two strikeouts and chipped in at the plate with a double for Coast; senior Remy Corbett also doubled. Freshman Ani Corbet and junior Maddie May each scored twice.

Coast Union has several more preseason games before opening Coast Valley League play March 24 at Valley Christian Academy. The team went undefeated in league play last season. 

The next home game for the Lady Broncos is today, Thursday March 5, against Nipomo at 4 p.m.
