Coast Union volleyball in tie for first place at 9-1

After sweeping Shandon 3-0 Tuesday last week, the Lady Broncos volleyball team was in turn swept by the North County Christian Crusaders on Thursday Oct. 23 in Atascadero, 25-16, 25-20, 26-24. Hence, coming into this week Coast Union and Crusaders are tied at 9-1 in the Coast Valley League (CVL).

If both teams finish League play in a tie, CIF rules would give the Crusaders the CVL title because they defeated the Lady Broncos in the second head-to-head matchup between the two teams.

In the Tuesday Oct. 21 match, Sage Radecki had 24 assists; Gigi Stoothoff had five kills and nine aces; Olivia Zamora had eight kills; and Janelle

Bohey pitched in with 14 aces.

In the Thursday match against the Crusaders, Bohey had 10 digs and six kills; Radecki contributed 23 assists; Reagan Kniffen added 10 digs; and Olivia Zamora had six kills for Coast Union.

The last home match of the season will be played at 5 p.m. today (Thursday Oct. 30).
