Botanist/author Sharon Lovejoy, seen above giving a tour and talk at the opening of the Dallidet Gardens in San Luis Obispo, will be featured in the Cambria Historical Museum parlor at 7 p.m. March 26.
The popular Lovejoy recently released her first novel for adults and teens, “Running Out of Night,” and will speak about her “Writer’s Saga: How a Cambrian Became an Award-winning Published Author and Illustrator.” She will autograph her works, which are sold through the museum, and refreshments will be served.
The general public is invited for a $10 fee, and advance reservations are required. Since Historical Society members are free as a perquisite, the fee may be applied to $30 family memberships.
The society also has some tickets still available for its Second Annual Vine Dining and Live Auction, from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at Stolo Family Vineyards. The five-course gourmet meal will be prepared and served al fresco by executive chefs from Robin’s, Linn’s and Sow’s Ear Restaurants; and Harmony Cafe and Centrally Grown Catering, paired with fine wines from Stolo’s Winery. Tickets are $125 per person, discounted to $100 per member. Memberships and advance reservations are available at the museum 927-4816, or on the website www.cam briahistoricalsociety.com.
Featured entertainers are Indigo Jazz, with Brett and Julia Mitchell and Bill Wingfield. For information call Penny Church at 927-1442.
