Shadowlands, a folk-pop band based on the Central Coast, will perform at Painted Sky Studios in Harmony.

Shadowlands, a folk-pop band anchored by three distinct songwriters and a cellist, will appear in concert at 8 p.m. Friday, April 3, at Painted Sky Studios in Harmony.

The band features Mark Davis (guitar, vocals), Karoline Hausted (piano, vocals) and Bob & Wendy (cello and vocals, respectively). The four were introduced by a mutual friend in San Luis Obispo and began creating music together, resulting in a self-titled debut album released this year.

The band describes its style as “an ethereal folk-pop sound somewhere in between The Swell Season, Fleetwood Mac and The Civil Wars.” Among the highlights for the band recently was an appearance at the Live Oak Music Festival and extensive local radio airplay for its song, “Restless Mind,” the winning song in the open category of the New Times Music Awards.

Tickets for the April 3 concert, priced at $18, are available at Cambria Music Box Shoppe, 778 Main St. in Cambria, at Boo Boo’s Records in San Luis Obispo or by calling 927-8330. If not sold out, tickets also will be available at the door.
