Coast Unified students show off art in juried exhibit

Coast Unified students will participate in a Youth Art Show from March 6-22, district art teacher Suzette Morrow announced.

A Visual and Performing Art show opening reception is planned for 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre, 1350 Main St. Performing arts students will show of their talents for the community beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the theater. Student art will be for sale at the reception only.

The exhibit will remain open to the public through March 22. Afterward, the students' work will be available for viewing online at Artsonia.com, under "Coast Unified School District Gallery."

Winners of Cambria's juried art show will go on to compete with the top students in Northern and Southern California, with the state winner to be honored with other state winners in July in New York. Last year, Devin Streeter of Cambria took top honors for California, earning a trip to New York.

The Cambria show is sponsored by Allied Arts Council and Coast Unified School District.
