Pewter Plough to show 'The Women' March 14-15

A Readers’ Theatre production of Clare Booth Luce’s 1936 satire “The Women” will be staged at the Pewter Plough Playhouse at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15.

The play focuses on prominent New York socialites who must claw their way through society — and one another — to protect their way of life in an age when women in some classes were known only by whom they married.

The all-woman cast includes Nicole Bailey, Barbara Beane, Carol Burkhart, Viv Goff, Jean Miller, Sharyn Young and Ali Burkhead. Janice Peters is the director.

Tickets are $10, with proceeds benefitting the Plough’s scholarship program for Coast Union High School students. Tickets are available by calling 927-3877 or online at boxoffice@pewterploughplayhouse.org.

Readers’ Theatre productions are presented in a staged-reading format. Those interested in acting in, directing or suggesting a play should email
