Artists, it’s not too late to conjure up something that highlights your zany, silly, wacky, edgy side, and then put it on display for all to enjoy. Entries for the 26th annual Prefix 927 Art Show are due from 10 a.m. to noon July 18.

There’s also plenty of time to donate to a silent auction.

Allied Arts Association sponsors the quirky show, which runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 19, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at the Veterans Memorial Building. No admission will be charged this year.

The show stretches the definitions of “art” by showcasing unusual concepts, media and applications, often from traditional artists. Humor is encouraged. Social and political commentary frequently is included.

The whimsy-packed show gives attendees a peek into the alter egos of their favorite artists.

Awards are to be presented during the artists’ reception from 5 to 7 p.m. July 19.

The public is welcome to join in the fun then and throughout the show, which is to include music, a 50/50 raffle, the silent auction and the “927-Wack-iest Hall of Fame,” featuring prior award winners. Wine, popcorn and brownies will be available.

For details, call Laura Mennella at 227-7179 or email her at l.mennella@yahoo.com.

To donate to the silent auction, email Holly (holly@supersleeper.com) or Dell (dellncliff@charter .net); artists can drop off donations when they submit their art entries July 18.
