This month’s art exhibit at the Cambria Library features the oil paintings of Bruce Marchese.
Marchese spent his youth in Brooklyn enjoying his favorite pastimes: baseball and drawing. After serving with the Marines during the Korean War, his youthful innocence and passion for drawing had faded. But he eventually started drawing again and subsequently took up oil painting.
Marchese is a primitive painter in a version of the Fauvist-new impressionist way, who enjoys working with color and motion.
His pieces will be on display through the end of July at the library, 1043 Main St. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
